What is the Melbourne Electric SUV Expo?

The 2024 Melbourne Electric SUV Expo is an auto show that showcases the latest range of electric SUVs, utes and people movers from leading brands, complete with test drives and information on charging options and financing solutions.

When and where is the Melbourne Electric SUV Expo?

The show will be held from 9 to 11 August 2024 at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre. Opening times are:

  • Friday 9 August: 11am-7pm
  • Saturday 10 August: 9am-5pm
  • Sunday 11 August: 9am-4pm.

Can I test drive EVs at the Melbourne Electric SUV Expo?

Future Drive Auto is offering test drives of the latest electric EV and hybrid SUVs at the expo for the first time. RACV is excited to the official test drive sponsor of the event, with an express test drive registration line available for RACV Members.

There will be a specially designed course for you to navigate and discover the EVs' power, agility and smooth performance.

The registration (and express line for RACV Members) will be located in the foyer area of the event space.

Where will RACV be at the Melbourne Electric SUV Expo?

The RACV team will be located at stand EV24 at the Melbourne Electric SUV Expo. If you need help finding the stall, it will be next to the GWM, Mini and Xpeng stands.

How much are tickets to the Melbourne Electric SUV Expo?

RACV Members receive a $10 discount on Melbourne Electric SUV Expo tickets, making their ticket price $25 per ticket.

Standard tickets to the Melbourne Electric SUV Expo cost $35 for adults and $30 for government-issued concession card holders.

Guests under 15 years old receive free entry to the show, with no ticket required.

How do I get to the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre?

If you’re driving to the Melbourne EV show, there are five car parks available near the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC):

  • Melbourne Exhibition Centre Parking: undercover parks accessed off Normanby Road with a height restriction of 2.2 metres.
  • South Wharf Parking: open air parks accessed off Normanby Road.
  • Freeway Parking: partially covered parks located at Munro Street under the Westgate Bridge.
  • Montague Street Parking: open air parks accessed via Munro Street followed by Montague Street.
  • Siddeley Street Parking: undercover parks located just across the river with a height restriction of 1.9 metres.

If you’re catching public transport, tram routes 96 and 109 take you to the Clarendon Street entrance (Stop 124A Casino/MCEC). Tram routes 48 and 70 take you to Flinders Street (Stop D5), from which you can walk up Clarendon Street to the MCEC. The closest train station is Southern Cross; outside the station, you can catch the 96 or 109 tram.

What should I know about EVs before attending the Melbourne Electric SUV Expo?

It’s a good idea to go into the show knowing a bit about EVs so that you can make the most of the events on offer.
