Dr. Adel Toosi is an Associate Professor in Computer Systems and the Director of the Distributed Systems and Network Applications (DisNet) Laboratory at the School of Computing and Information Systems, University of Melbourne. He completed his PhD at the University of Melbourne in 2015 and has published over 80 peer-reviewed papers with more than 4,500 citations. Dr. Toosi has received several prestigious awards, including the Monash University Vice Chancellor Award for Education, and has secured over $1.5 million in funding from industry and government. His research focuses on Distributed Systems, emphasizing the Internet-of-Things, edge computing, and cloud computing to enhance the sustainability of smart systems in transportation, agriculture, and infrastructure.
