One of the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge's most experienced competitors, Andris has participated in eight Events spanning three decades with three different teams including the Aurora Solar Car Team, a non-profit group of volunteers dedicated to promoting sustainable mobility, the University of Michigan and Australian Technology Network teams.

Andris is currently completing his part-time PhD and lecturing on vehicle design at RMIT University.  Previously, he was a Senior ADAS Attribute Performance Engineer at Ford of Australia.

Andris continues to share his considerable solar-electric and automotive safety knowledge with the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge by mentoring student team members, providing technical advice to Event Faculty and judging the Cruiser Class
